This is the second annual bonfire, by artist Rosanne Robertson. 30 artists from the UK and abroad travelled to Salford's Islington Mill on 26/1/12 to burn a piece of their work and make a pledge on art and artists' relationship to the economy and activism. Rosanne says: "The Artists' Bonfire is unapologetic about the more obvious connotations such as strike, destruction and renewal but it is also open to new interpretations, be they political or personal or both. All viewpoints are encouraged... including those opposed to burning art." http://manchesterartistsbonfire2012.tumblr.com
